Belize Weather Forecast: February 28, 2016

General Situation:
Belize NMS: A cool northeasterly air flow prevails. Relatively cool and slightly moist conditions expected during the next few days.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Mostly cloudy and cool with light isolated showers or light rain mainly over the south today; showers will become isolated country-wide tonight.
Winds: North - northeast 10-20 knots.

Today: Winds: NE 10-20 kt.; seas: Moderate .; waves: 4-6 ft.; light showers or light rain mainly south.
Tomorrow: Winds: E-NE 5-15 kt.; seas: Choppy.; waves: 3-5 ft.; isolated showers.
Marine Outlook: Monday night:- Winds: E-NE 5-15 kt.; seas: Choppy.; waves: 3-5 ft.; isolated showers.

General Outlook: For Monday and Monday night is for only isolated showers.
Tropical Weather Outlook: Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours in the North Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea or Gulf of Mexico.

Caribbean Forecast: An easterly wave of low pressure will form over the Caribbean Sea on Monday. This system will bring chances of light to moderate rain to northern Nicaragua, Honduras and eastern Guatemala. San Pedro Sula, Honduras, will experience afternoon showers with a high of 85(F)/ 29(C). Scattered showers will also trail this system across parts of Jamaica, eastern Cuba, Haiti, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Dominican Republic. Santiago De Cuba, Cuba, can expect afternoon and evening rain with a high of 83(F)/ 28(C). Most of Mexico will avoid precipitation on Monday. The exception to this will be along eastern facing mountain slopes across the Sierra Madre Oriental Mountains. Southeasterly flow from the Gulf of Mexico combined with daytime heating will lead to isolated showers across portions of the mountain range on Monday.

OP Marty	From Belmopan... The cool air continues to come down from the NNE, increased Pacific high level from the SW is resulting in significant cloud over most of Belize. There are a few rain showers, mainly over the sea, but there are a few inland and this may continue during the day. Looks like today will generally remain cloudier than yesterday, could be a little rain. Temperatures in Belmopan: Today is probably going to be Similar, to yesterday : Sat, max. 27°C 81°F Last night min. 18°C 64°F ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )
