There is one area of slight interest this morning and it is located in the central Caribbean to the south of Haiti. Weather analysis indicates that a trough of low pressure is located from Haiti southward through the central Caribbean and this weather system is producing an area of thunderstorm activity. Tropical development is not expected from this area of thunderstorm activity. The reason why is because there is a large amount of dry air across the western and central Caribbean. In addition, there is 30 to 40 knots of wind shear impacting the central Caribbean and this is unfavorable for tropical development.
Other than the area of thunderstorm across the central Caribbean, there are no other areas of interest across the Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico.
