HEY WHOEVER YOU MIGHT BE I'm soon to be coming down to Belize and really wanting to get some inside info from peeps who have a reasonable understanding about different stuff like rentals and where old hippies hang lol. I'm an artist and my GF a musician. We are both in our 60's retired and looking to enjoy the islands. Would like to maybe live there permanently ? Hello Mike....If you make it to Ambergris Caye, pop in and chat with Tom at the Black Orchid Restaurant....Tues-Sat 3p-5p for Happy Hour......He's an old guy that has been in the Country since 2003 and has not left left since 2012.....Right now it's a bit slow and a few of our long time expat friends/guests will be there to chat up the 'ways of the island'

You will be fine.....In fact it's more of a challenge to be a loner here..... Off the top of my head I recommend Monday night Cribbage at Coco Locos.....Lots of fabulous people to meet there....Find me on Facebook as I usually post and share impromptu socials & events going on throughout the island.....And of course if you find yourself headed South stop in at the Black Orchid and say hi......Thinking of places near you; Sunday at the Truck Stop for a pig roast, Wednesday Dive Bar Sushi, Thursday Wine Social at Marbucks...... The North Neighborhood watch socials......I'm confident you'll find a circle that works for you.....

A group of ladies have been meeting the 2nd Tuesday of every month since 1987. We do a potluck style lunch at rotating locations. Please check out our Facebook page. "Ambergris Caye Ladies' Lunch". I post the location about a week prior to the lunch. We have a handful of businesses that are kind enough to let us use their restuarants for our get-togethers. These include Wayo's, Island Time,Carlo & Ernie's to name a few. Hope you will consider joining us once you arrive on Ambergris Caye.
Second Tuesday every month at Noon. By the way, the food is really good too!
