Hello

Does anyone have experience with the renewal process under the QRP?

Does one need to repeat the medical, police check from home country and all other steps just for a renewal?

Thank you

Mike

I have been here on the QRP since 2003. Yes, we now have to renew once a year but all I have to do is provide them with bank evidence that I SPENT $2,000 US per month. I believe it still says "guaranteed income of $2,000.00 US per month" but that is really not quite true. Be aware that the rules keep changing.
However, in spite of all the BS I still love living here.

Thank you

I had my attorney at Barrow and Williams check on this as well and you are correct - no need to redo everything a second time

You are the lucky ones. I am applying and they didn't like my police report. They said it looked fake! I have a Global Entry Card for Gods sake. That's FBI check. Now they won't even reply to my emails!

You do not have to prove that you 'spent $US 2,000 per month'. You have to prove that you brought into Belize a calendar year amount of $US 24,000 (an average of $US 2,000 per month). There are no checks made to ascertain whether you spent it. Or not.

I have to take them my bank statements. What do you have to show?

I agree 100% Diane. QRP is a pain and I have heard many stories from friends of inconvenience. Besides that it just rubs me wrong to have to turn over my financial statement to any government agency even though it is only your bank statement from Belize. I was accepted and had my letter in hand. Decided to go the PR route instead and I'm glad I did. One and done.

A bank statement that shows that within a calendar year I brought in to Belize US$ 24,000. It does not need to show that I spent it.
