From Belmopan...
We are still in the middle of a general wet area of the western Caribbean. There was a large and very high ITSC swell-up last night, reaching its maximum activity by 03am this morning, mainly over northern Belize producing massive amounts of rain in the north. That has now subsided, leaving only small areas of light rain in a few parts of northern Belize. The central Caribbean is relatively clear of wet clouds so we may well get dryer weather in the next few days time.
There has been another area of cloud developing off Africa over the last few days, it has this morning been identified as INVEST 97L and at present, it is expected to come towards the Caribbean during next week.
Today will remain overcast or cloudy for most of the morning, there might be some sun this afternoon, there could be the odd rain shower during the day.
