Good Afternoon, I wanted to start by thanking everyone on this forum. My wife and I purchased property in the Habaneros area about six months ago. The dream is to move to the Island at the end of 2018. The info provided here is truly invaluable, so again thank you. We are coming down between Christmas and New Years. All of our accommodations are set. However, due to and early flight we will need to spend one night in Belize City near the airport. Can someone please make a recommendation?

Have a great day.

Depends what you want to pay. Years ago I spent a night at Global Village Hotel which is very close to the airport and provided a shuttle service to me. (inexpensive) I haven't stayed there since because they don't allow pets. Last year I stayed at Princess Hotel/Casino. It is a little further from the airport but near where I could board my dog. It is the better of the two but more expensive. Princess has a great restaurant and such. They have a shuttle to the airport. Neither has anything in the area as I remember that I would go out at night for.

The embassy hotel is directly across from BZE. However, since there are two of you it may be better to go into Belize City and stay at a nicer place and fly out of Muni which is half the price of BZE.
I too have property in the Robles may want to stop by and talk.

Another popular choice is the Biltmore. Pool and restaurant. Northern highway, south of international.
