From Belmopan...
Well HURRICANE MATTHEW came up against some wall of air, which it sort of bounced off, but since Matthew was a rotating mass of air, its bounce resulted in its eye doing an anti-clockwise rotation yesterday, then take off in a different direction, more or less northwards, but presently NNW towards Jamaica, but it will probably turn a bit more today. . . . The predictions are presently suggesting it will go between Jamaica and Haiti, it may have strengthened a bit, the eye is again clearly formed, but it is no longer on a direction towards Belize and nor is the minor development INVEST 98L likely to come any where near us.
The radar is still stuck on yesterday, so no rain information. There is the Caribbean winds coming down from the NNE and other cloud coming down over Mexico, from the NNW, so these two can clash and cause areas of rain at any time during the day.
Looks like today will be largely sunny, but with significant cloud and could be the odd rain patches.
