The Spring/Summer 2015 issue of The TOLEDO HOWLER is online HERE

In this issue we conclude the reminiscences of Don Owen-Lewis who first arrived in Toledo from England in 1953; learn about the health and healing properties of ginger in Arzu Mountain Spirits regular column and introduce the new zipline canopy course at Blue Creek... and lots more. The Chocolate Festival of Belize will be taking place for the ninth year on the weekend of May 22-24th and we hope that many of you will be able to come down and join us for this celebration of cacao. Contact our BTIA accommodation members to make your room reservations or Stephanie in the BTIA office on Front Street in Punta Gorda (details inside The Howler)

We hope you enjoy reading and look forward to seeing you down here.

The Fall/Winter 2015 issue of The TOLEDO HOWLER is online HERE

In this issue Gerald and Deena Parham reminisce about growing up in an East Indian village in rural Toledo in the fifties and sixties; Arzu Mountain Spirit writes about guifiti ("gift of the plant spirits" in English) a kind of bitters made by the Garifuna healers. Dr Geoff Braswell of University of California, San Diego describes the remarkable finds at his dig at Nim Li Punit this spring including the second largest jade artefact yet found in Belize. Contact our BTIA accommodation members to make your room reservations for Garifuna Settlement Day and Battle of the Drums this month or Stephanie in the BTIA office on Front Street in Punta Gorda (details inside The Howler)

We hope you enjoy reading and look forward to seeing you down here.
