does anyone have an idea on what percent of expats from the US dont make it, in other words return to the US?

It used to be easy to tabulate. You could count how many where warming barstools at BCs before noon but now that BCs is closed I don't know anymore.

That's funny Elbert..... We see them come and go year round....Many pack it all up and land here only to leave again within months and never to be heard from again.....However, when they leave it is not a Belize issue it tends to be a personal issue.....Belize is a Curious place which makes it a challenge to adjust......Therefore, coming here with other issues or high expectations can have detrimental results. We are terrible at determining who is going to stay and who is going to leave; the unexpected suddenly find a way and then the perfectly acclimated pack and leave in the middle of the night... Now with that said we live in a condo building with expat business owners & professionals...If I use this building alone in the last 5 years I would guess 35-40% who say they are 'here for good' have left, giving up their businesses and or transplanted careers....
