Dear Forum members,
I am a retired high school teacher, 63 and in good health, who is interested in teaching part-time at San Pedro HS for the 2017-2018 school year. I am certified in English, speech, and theatre. My husband is a retired engineer who has been a mentor for high school FIRST robotics teams. He is 64 and also in good health. We have a retirement income, after mortgage and taxes, of $3K per month. I am proficient in spoken Spanish and fluent in French.
I plan to email the principal with my resume. But I wanted to know if anyone else in this forum teaches at the high school. We have been to Belize City and the Belize interior-- twice.
My husband and I lived in St. Croix, USVI, from 1975-80, and know about navy showers, living with a cistern, eating local foods, and conserving electricity and living without a/c. I taught at St. Croix Central HS.
We plan to keep our house in the states, and my son will house sit for us a year. Then after a year we will make a decision.
If I get a position, I'd like to bring two of my cats with us.
What would it cost to rent a two bedroom apt? Any info. You could share would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
