Mr. Corry as he was affectionately known made San Pedro his home many years ago and became friends with everyone. His cheerful spirit will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in peace.

It is with saddened hearts that the community of San Pedro learned of the passing of Corry McDermott. Corry came to San Pedro many years ago to join his brother Gerry McDermott, owner of Paradise Hotel. A very friendly person, Corry made tons of friends with Sanpedranos and residents as he managed his own real estate business. He was a writer, promoter, traveller and an avid philanthropist. Ambergris Today and iTravel Belize, on behalf of he people of San Pedro and Ambergris Caye, extend sincere condolences to the family of Corry McDermott.

"We regret to inform you of the death of Corry McDermott on December 31st 2016. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1931. He is survived by his loving wife Janet, his children Cheryl Ann, Sean and Mary Colleen and his sister Patricia as well as his step children Cyan, Cindy, Monte and Apryl and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.The story of Corry's life in Belize will be printed at a later date and information about a memorial to follow."

The San Pedro Sailing Club at Caribbean villas wished to express its grief and condolences to the McDermott family on the passing away of Corry McDermott. He was a staunch supporter of our youth training program; he always gave generously of his time and resources, up to and including the donation of a sailboat. R.I.P., Mr. Corry from all of us and our sailors.
