Dr. Stephanie Seneff will come to Belize in April to testify to the Pesticide Control Board (PCB) and will also give 2 presentations to the public. Dr. Seneff is the globally recognized expert on glyphosate and senior research scientist from MIT. Pro-organic Belize and the Southeast Watershed Alliance Group both presented research documents to the PCB in efforts to ban the pesticide, recently reported as a probable carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. The 2 public events will be April 5th in Spanish Lookout at the community center from 7-9pm, and April 6th at UB, College of Agriculture at Central Farm from 1:30-3:30. It is important that Belizeans concerned about the safety of their food and the environment know and understand the dangers of using toxic agri-chemicals on the food we consume and as well the serious health risks to our farmers.
