The Belize Fisheries Department hereby reminds the public that it will cease the issuance/renewal of fisher folk and vessel licenses for the year 2017 by April 14th, 2017. Furthermore, fishers are advised that they must be in compliance with the following:

• Each vessel captain must comply with the filling of the Catch Log Book on every trip and submit to a fisheries officer out at sea or in Belize City Office;

• All vessel captains/owners must comply with the vessel color coding scheme being implemented;

• No permits to minors will be issued;

• No permits for cooks will be issued (cooks must have a valid fisher folk license)
