On Ambergris Caye this morning the wind has died and is now only 6 mph from the SE. The reef has portals to the open ocean the local captains call Cuts. When the weather is rough the captains say 'The cut is closed' this morning they are saying 'The cut is open', Good news for a lot of divers that have been waiting to get to our better dive sites. The expected high is 88 f.

From Belmopan...

Big changes happened last night. A massive swell-up over southern Mexico cause considerable rain, but that rain did not reach Belize. It was caused by a clash between a cold front pushing down and the high humid SW Pacific air. As a result, the easterly Caribbean wind has completely stopped. The cold front has resulted in a large area of air pushing out in many directions, forming a double line over Honduras, and even down to Nicaragua. This may not result in cooler air here yet, much of those would be caused by the very high swell-up collapsing.

Looks as if this morning will be rather cloudy, but no rain.

Temperatures in Belmopan :
( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Tue max. 34°C 93°F Last night min. 25°C 76°F

All rather complex at present and right now hard to say what will happen during the day. There are air movements in all different directions. There is cloud coming down from the north, the easterly Caribbean wind has not started yet. The cold front and collapse of that very high swell-up sent cloud shock waves right down to Nicaragua and a second over Honduras and a 3rd sort of just north of Belize. Not clear at this time if the cold front will come any nearer to us, it is hovering just north of the Yucatan.
