In preparation of the upcoming Easter weekend, The San Pedro Town Council met with a number of agencies to discuss the level of preparedness and readiness of the island. Present at the meeting were all elected Town Council officials along with representatives of the Belize Red Cross (San Pedro Branch), The Dr Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II, SP Fire Department, San Pedro Traffic Department, San Pedro Liquor License Board, Police Department and the Belize Coast Guard.
Health
The San Pedro PolyClinic is fully prepared and ready for the upcoming Easter weekend. The working hours for the clinic is as follows:

Doctors and support staff will be available to attend to patients in the announced section of the clinic. Residents and visitors are reminded for the emergency number for the clinic for the Easter Weekend is (501) 660-2871.
Police
The Police Department has reported that Coastal Executive Unit has gotten additional support for both Caye Caulker and San Pedro and has put in place a number of measures to ensure the safety of the residents and visitors to both island.
- All Police Personal are on standby with additional support from mainland
- Increase in foot and vehicular patrol
- Police will be conducting stop search and checkpoint
- Police will be doing constant check up on businesses to ensure that they are operating within the law and that they have license to operate for the granted time
- Minors found drinking/driving will be detained until their parents are located
- Police mobile will be place in strategic area to respond quickly to emergency
The Police Department is advising the general public to be and act responsibly while socializing in public. The emergency number is 911.
Coast Guard
The Belize Coast Guard reported that they will have a heavy presence on both island and that regular patrols will be conducted to ensure that vessels are abiding by the law. The general public is reminded that the Belize Coast Guard officers will be enforcing the law especially ensure that
- Captains are not speeding in no wake zones especially in areas known as swimming areas (Boca del Rio)
- That Captains are not drinking while captaining a vessel
- No overloads of vessel especially leaving and arriving at the official or designated port
- Spot checks will be done on vessels for sea worthiness of vessel and for mandatory equipment are on board especially fire extinguisher and life jackets.

Other Agencies
The San Pedro Traffic Department will be doing check points and patrol throughout the island to enforce the traffic law. Motorists are advised to ensure that their vehicles are properly license and insured to be on public streets. Drivers are also advised to have their driver's license at hand in case of checkpoints. Golf Cart rental companies are being advised to ensure that anyone renting carts have a valid driver's license. Motorists are advised that if you intend to consume alcohol, that you have a designated driver.
Both Fire Department and Belize Red Cross remain ready and on standby in the case of an emergency.
