Due to several recent accidents and the fact that some people, insist on driving with no respect for the laws and regulations of Belize with regards to speeding and driving in a reckless manner. We at the SPTD along with the SPTC and Police are going to enforce the speeding laws, which are, 10mph in a built up area and 15mph on other roads. We also will be targeting reckless drivers. To help drivers obey the law, we will be installing speed bumps at several locations including the Northern road and erecting speed limit signs across the island. All drivers are reminded that it is an offence to ignore posted speed limits and to avoid a speed bump; violators will be ticketed without exceptions.

We all must work together to make our roads safe for all who use them.

Thank you.

===============

Gracias.
