Beach/dock lighting, beach armoring (seawalls), vehicle traffic are threatening the nesting of sea turtles along the northern beaches of Ambergris Caye. Makes me wonder how many years we have left of the turtles returning to nest soon what little beach we still have for nesting will no longer be available or suitable. But our team continues to work hard and are determined to continue on with the project. We are hoping for another successful season in 2017!!!

This looks to be an area between Robles Point and Rocky Point. The good news is that neither boat nor land craft can get into this cove. So, I think the turtles are pretty safe except for foot traffic. I hope there are some Loggerhead nests here too.
