From Belmopan...
The patchy rain in most parts of western Belize last night was mainly due to many flare-ups all over Yucatan and Honduras, most of that has now finished, I measured 25mm (1") over the full evening to this morning, significant, but not the threatening flooding NEMO had been warning, because the main storm area stayed out in the Caribbean and has moved up into the Gulf. There is a potential tropical storm way out in the Atlantic, but more on that in a couple of days time. Presently the surface wind is from the SW and the low clouds from the west, which is unusual, meaning no Caribbean wind at present.
Looks like today will have a reasonable amount of sunshine later, but the ever present large areas of cloud and the small possibility of rain, perhaps more so this afternoon and evening.
