Hi. 1st message on board. Coming to AC May 1 w/wife for diving and vacation fun. 1st visit there. Staying at Mayan Princess and haven't seen much talk about it. Hope someone can give it a good word. Have a lot of questions about AC and what else to do besides dive. Thanks for any help.

I loved staying at the Maya - clean, nice, loved having the French doors open and sitting on the patio drinking my coffee (or Beliken); it's nice and close to everything in town, staff is very nice and friendly--if it was cheaper, I'd stay there more often when I come down, but I'm a solo traveler so need cheaper digs most of the time. Do rent a bike or golfcart to explore the island north and south, go snorkeling, fishing/beach BBQ, lots of great guides all up and down the beach to take you out on stuff like that, shop, barhop, lots of mainland tours also. I always run out of time before I do all the stuff I want to do down there!

My wife and I have stayed there many times and love it. It's right in town, great view & balcony, full kitchen, a little living room, helpful staff. If you want to do some cooking and make your own coffee or breakfast in the morning you can't beat it. My Wife loves the Kitchen at the Mayan Princess. Plus you can stock up the fridge with some malty beverages or rum and people watch from the balcony without having to always go out for a drink. I do agree it's not the cheapest but for a couple it's great and when considering other options and prices it's right in line with other resorts and hotels and their prices.

My husband and I stayed there in February and have only good things to say about the Mayan. Very clean and safe. One entrance into the building and after 10 (or so) the door was locked and a guard was there to let you in. Never a problem getting in. We were on the third floor and did not close our balcony doors in 10 days. Being very close to Fido's is a definite plus (can't get lost getting home after partying with Category 7!). Great choice and definitely worth the price.

Hey Joel,
Her's a question from left field. Did you use to live in Tampa Fl.? And did you sell cars? You seem familiar. Just curious.
Thanks David
