Belize Weather Forecast: August 6, 2017

General Situation:
Belize NMS: Generally fair conditions expected today and then moisture starts increasing tonight as a strong tropical wave approaches the country.
Advisories: *Small craft caution in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers or thunderstorms*
24-hour forecast: Sunny with a few cloudy spells today along with isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms. Cloudy at times tonight with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly along the coast.

General Outlook: For Monday and Monday night is for cloudy to overcast skies with some showers and thunderstorms over most areas of the country.
Daily Tropical Weather Outlook: A strong tropical wave over the Central Caribbean Sea is becoming better organised and there is a medium chance of this system becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm over the Northwest Caribbean Sea before it reaches our area late Monday into Tuesday. Residents in Belize area advised to closely monitor this system and to stay tuned to the latest updates from NEMO and the National Meteorological Service on the progress of this system. An elongated area of low pressure about 1000mls WSW of the Cape Verde Islands has a low chance of development during the next couple of days.

OP Marty	From Belmopan... It has been a very active night, with many sell-ups, mainly in the Pacific. But the one in the central Caribbean that was breaking up last night, has re-developed. It is still not rotating as such, but there are the outside air movements that are causing apparent rotation, that is easterly Caribbean on it top area, southerly air coming up on its east side and NW high winds coming down from Mexico on its west side, and it now has a more defined low pressure area, although 1010 mb is hardly low, because 1013 in the standard normal pressure. But there are all the ingredients there for 90L Slowly Organizing in Caribbean to develop into a storm, but there is no indication, as yet, that it will. Looks like today will be mainly sunny, with clouds developing, there could be some rain showers, although very few at present.
