Daily Tropical Weather Outlook: At 3:00 am Hurricane Gert was centred near latitude 36.0N and longitude 68.4W or about 330 miles Northwest of Bermuda. Gert was moving to the North-east at 21mph with maximum sustained winds of 90mph. Elsewhere in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours. On Ambergris Caye this morning the wind is from the East at 10 mph and the sea is calm. We have a sunny day with the expected high being 88 f.

From Belmopan...

Relatively calm weather at present, the easterly Caribbean wind is predominating everything around us at present. It does have some significant cloud in places and causing some rain in parts of central Belize.

Looks like today will be mainly sunny, with many clouds and the chance of isolated rain, some heavy.

From Belmopan...

The tropical storm picture at present is not very clear, there is no threat to Belize at present.

HURRICANE GERT is way up in the north Atlantic and only causing problems to shipping.

The two listed Invests 91L and 92L are still very small and no sign of rotation, it is not clear yet where they might go, they could come our way, but presently, no indication that they will develop into storms, but we do have to watch them.

There is however, a much larger area of activity, presently just moved north out of the Caribbean. This, to me, could well develop into a large storm, but it has not been flagged or mentioned by the weather people. OK no risk to us or anyone in the Caribbean.
