Last night I was served a dish in a restaurant - local snapper over some veggies.
When it arrived I thought maybe there was some mistake because it looked like a pile of fried plantain.
O closer inspection I realized that it was a pile of the tiniest fillets ....... more like the ones I used to see from sunfish in inland lakes in Michigan. Is there any regulation or standardization on what fish can be harvested and served?

There are seasons and size limits for many commercial species.

Would snapper fall in that category? I'm concerned about over-fishing much more than about one bad meal.

Check fishing regulations for seasons and size limits to be sure.
