Were you told that by a Realtor? Because no one else is expecting it.

There are quite a few lots/homes and businesses with public electricity quite a ways South, just not all the way to the end.......... Since 2010 the rumor has been that Public Electricity will be available at the South end of the island..... However, if you contact BEL directly there is no such plan. Not to say purchasing property South is a bust..... It's simply that you'll need to seek other means of power... There are beautiful homes at/near the end of the island operating on other sources of power..... Yes there are a few fly-by-night and unscrupulous Sellers/Realtors who continue to talk up Airports/Electricity/Water/Roads all that are not scheduled or even on the Council's Agenda.......

Judyann, I think you might be talking about San Pedro? I apologize. I was talking about Caye Caulker. Maybe I misunderstood the conversation and spoke out of turn.

Ohani, now I'm not sure if we are talking about Caye Caulker or San Pedro but if you are talking about Caulker, I don't really have more to tell. There is always talk of electricity going south but it's all by developers and realtors. Someday it will probably happen but I don't think anyone is holding their breath. Many of the residents (though certainly not all) down there are happy being off grid and there will be a cost to bring the village current to your property so many of them aren't clamoring for it. That's all I know. I suggest you talk to some of your neighbors.

Again, if this was all about San Pedro, ignore me!
