THANK YOU Caye Caulker Village Council!!! They did an awesome job on almost all of the streets. It's funny, I said yesterday that smoothing out the roads may have one negative, in that folks won't have to drive slow, REAL slow, anymore, to avoid the potholes & craters that were part of every street on the island. PLEASE do remember to GO SLOW...and Safe!!!
If I could make one request.....the southern section of Almina Drive (Middle Street) from Bare Foot Lane (just south of the RC School) south towards The Anchorage Inn, was too narrow for the earth grader to pass through (I was there when they attempted). There are two HUGE low spots just south of the Bare Foot Lane intersection that really need to be filled and flattened. There are large rocks and stones at the bottom of these holes that are dangerous to foot, bike and cart traffic. If we could get the back hoe to fill and spread a couple loads of sand/coral mix and then steam roller it hard & flat, it would be very helpful in making this a safer section of road to travel.
