On Thursday, March 1st, 2018, Child Stimulation Month commenced throughout the country of Belize, under the theme: "Birth to Eight: Children must play."

In San Pedro the month of activities began with a short ceremony at the Central Park which followed by a parade through the streets of San Pedro Town.

Conducting the brief ceremony was Mistress of Ceremony, Ms. Kimberly Flores Moro, who commenced the program with the National Anthem. Following the National Anthem was a prayer which was given by Principal of Little Angels Pre-School, Mrs. Marina Kay.

Mrs. Arianie Gongora gave the welcome address where she mentioned the importance of these activities, which was for the students to learn more about their surroundings, such as: community workers, etc.

Mayor Daniel Guerrero was invited as the guest speaker, where he stressed the importance of children's rights in our country and that activities like these help in the development of a child's intellect. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers of this event for all their efforts in preparing all the activities to come in the month of March.

Before the closing ceremony, which was given by Mrs. Rosela Guerrero, principal of San Pedro Pre-School, the children of all pre-schools and parents enjoyed a musical presentation by Mr. Leeroy Jenkins, who prepared a special jingle for the event.

After the parade, the children enjoyed some refreshments, provided by the San Pedro Town Council, as a treat for their walk. It was such a bright and lovely day for a color filled parade!

Thank you to all the school who participated in this year's opening of Child Stimulation Month: ABC Pre-School, Isla Bonita Pre-School, San Pedro Pre-School, Little Angels Pre-School, Brighter Tomorrow Pre-School, Holy Cross Pre-School and San Pedro Shining Star Pre-School.
