SP House Of Culture Holds Cultural Fashion Show

The San Pedro House of Culture held its first annual Festival of Cultures on Sunday, April 22, 2018 on the beachside by Palapa Bar. There was plenty to eat and drink and live music provided by the popular Caribbean Kings. Highlight of the event was the Cultural Fashion Show put together by the House of Culture and Foreva Fancy Boutique.

Festival of Cultures & Fashion Show

The House of Culture presents the Festival of Cultures & Fashion Show. The San Pedro House of Culture, Foreva Fancy Boutique along with Errol Gentle presented Culture meets Fashion on the 22nd of April 2018

Another successful event to promote the diverse cultural heritage of Belize. The House of Culture wishes to say Thank you to everyone for the continued support. Thank you to the models... you all did a great job. Thank you to the young girls from the RC Primary School for taking part in the cultural segment. Thank you to Caribbean Kings for the music and the San Pedro Dance Company for great performances. Also, thank you to Elvi's Kitchen, Finn & Martini, Black & White Cultural Entertainment Center, Bella Italia, Quality Chicken for donating the cultural foods. We want to send a special thank you to Jim Reilly & Blackadore Caye for all their support. Let's not forget Jan Brown and Ella Békési for their assistance.

Finally thank you to everyone that made the Festival of Cultures & Fashion Show event a huge success.

San Pedro House of Culture celebrates first Festival of Cultures
The Boca del Rio Area of San Pedro Town came alive on Sunday, April 22nd with the first-ever Festival of Cultures took place on the beach. Hosted by the San Pedro House of Culture (SPHC) in collaboration with Foreva Fancy Boutique, the event was a fundraiser to assist the SPHC in future events. Attendees enjoyed cultural food, drinks, live music and a cultural fashion show showcasing the attire of different ethnic groups living in Belize. Throughout the day, Caribbean Kings provided musical entertainment, while island residents and visitors stopped by to learn about the different cultures of Belize. The traditional food of the Garifuna, Chinese, Mestizo, Maya, Creole, East Indians and even Lebanese were all available for sale. Guillermo ‘Mito’ Paz of the SPHC stated that the event was a large one to organize, and he is thankful to those who stepped up to help. “It was an opportunity for Belizeans and visitors alike to learn more about the different cultural groups that make up Belize,” he said, adding that the SPHC looks forward to hosting the event next year.
