An upper trough over the Caribbean is aiding the development of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across E Cuba and Hispaniola. Similar showers and thunderstorms ar over N Colombia and NW Venezuela. Elsewhere, fresh to strong NE to E surface winds persist off the coasts of NW Venezuela and N Colombia with 8 to 10 ft seas. Otherwise, moderate winds and seas, accompanied by dry conditions persist across the basin.

For the forecast, building high pressure north of the area will maintain fresh to locally strong tradewind flow along the north coast of South America tonight. These winds will expand northward over the south central Caribbean into the southwest Caribbean through Fri, then diminish somewhat late this weekend into early next week. Northeasterly swell will increase east of the Leewards tonight and Friday, then decay from west to east through Sun.

From Belmopan...

A lot of straggly cloud in the Caribbean coming in, causing isolated patches of rain, mainly in parts of central and south Belize this morning. There is the odd very thing high level cloud from the WNW which could effect some of the Caribbean cloud, it caused massive swell-ups over Mexico and Guatamala yesterday evening.

Looks like today will be a mixture of sun and cloud, with the chance of the occasional rain in parts of central and south Belize any time during the day.

Temperatures in Belmopan :
( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last night min. 23°C 74°F Yesterday max. 31°C 87°F

The Cloud and rain pictures. The straggly Caribbean clouds are building and increasing over land, in large areas. There is very little trace of any high-level cloud, but the WNW high-level winds are inter-reacting with the lower Caribbean clouds, causing them to get larger and producing patches of rain, probably into this afternoon.
