We are planning to visit Belize in July and have been told to stay on Ambergris Caye. We are primarily interested in Diving, but wondered whether our 3 children would find anything else outside of the water to interest them during our stay. Perhaps there is a mainland resort that we should be considering that may offer additional activities to Diving.

I would suggest going inland too. The Cayo district has a lot to offer too. Horse back riding, river canoeing etc.

e-mail me at djones@btl.net if you want more info.

Hi, trina I would suggest the Orange Walk area. There is a lot to offer there. In particular there is the Lamanai Outpost lodge that offers exactly what you're looking for. You can contact me if you need more info at djones@btl.net

it isn't for everyone. it is our 3rd trip, but the first with the kids. we know pretty much what to expect. we are trying it next week. my kids r 5 & 7. how old r yours?

we do cayo 4 days ambergris 5 days. so much to see & do inland. on ac there are other kids. swimming. volleyball. basketball. snorkeling. parasailing. waverunners. sandcastles, hermit crab races. golf cart rides.

i suggest staying at a place with a kitchen, like a 2 or 3 BR condo or house. we chose a condpo with air & cable tv. (we need down time!)

i will let you know in two weeks!

We are heading for Belize in July also with our 8 year old son. I think he is more excited than us...this is our 2nd trip.

If they love the beach they will love AC.
Plenty for kids to do. We are staying on the mainland for 2 days then going to AC
