Easy access to technology has led to an increase in cyberbullying
As technology has become more accessible to young people, cyberbullying has increased in our society. According to a report by I-SAFE Foundation, cyberbullying has become a serious problem among teens and it is up to everyone in the community to help fight the problem.
Cyberbullying can take many forms such as sending mean messages or threats to a person’s email account or cell phone, spreading rumors online or through texts, posting hurtful or threatening messages on social media network sites or web pages, stealing a person’s account information to break into their account and send damaging messages, pretending to be someone else online to hurt another person, taking unflattering pictures of a person and spreading them through cell phones or the internet and circulating sexually suggestive pictures or messages about a person.

Students in each classroom had prepared a variety of presentations showcasing the various strategies used for different types of learning. ACES operates under the belief that all children are capable of learning, and thus by working together and being inclusive, the classroom can be a wonderful place for all students.
Joining the Open Day activities was Ms. Myra Arzu, Special Education Officer from the National Resource Center for Inclusive Education (NaRCIE). Will Global Warming Create Larger Hurricanes?
As the planet warms, the extra heat and moisture available to hurricanes are expected to make them more destructive. Computer modeling work consistently indicates that greenhouse warming will increase the average intensity of global tropical cyclones by 2 - 11% by 2100, with an increase in the number of Category 4 and 5 storms (though the majority of the models predict that the number of weaker tropical cyclones will decrease). Global warming is also expected to make tropical cyclones rainier, with up to 20% more precipitation falling within 100 km of the storm center. But how might the areal size of these great storms change in our warming climate? Storm size is a crucial factor in determining how large a hurricane’s storm surge will be and how much damage it will cause. With hurricane storm surges progressively riding inland on top of ever-increasing sea levels, any increase in storm size could greatly increase storm surge damage.
Formation Of An Area Of Disturbed Weather In the Area From The Northern Lesser Antilles & Virgin Islands To Just East Of The Bahamas Is On The Table For Late Next Week & Next Weekend
I will be watching the area just east of the Bahamas and just north of Puerto Rico late next week through next weekend as it looks increasingly more likely that an area of disturbed weather may form here. In fact, an area of low pressure may form in this area of disturbed weather and whatever disturbance does form will need to be monitored for possible tropical development. The weather pattern next week across the western Atlantic is expected to consist of a east-southwastward moving frontal boundary located well offshore of the US East Coast and a fairly strong high pressure ridge that will be located along the Mid-Atlantic and Carolina coastline. I think that it is quite possible that we could see, at the minimum, an area of disturbed weather form at the tail end of this front just east of the Bahamas and that this system could try to spin up into a sub-tropical or tropical system. A majority of the model guidance continue to show this potential:
Caribbean eyes untapped potential of world’s largest climate fund
The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) also known as the 5Cs, is looking for ways to boost the region’s access to the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
The centre is on the hunt for proposals from the private and public sector organisations around the region that want to work with the Centre to develop their ideas into successful projects that are in line with their country’s national priorities to build resilience to climate change.
The 5Cs, the agency with responsibility for coordinating climate action in the Caribbean, has doubled its efforts in wake of the 2017 Hurricane Season which saw the devastation of several islands and which exacerbates the need for climate proofing critical infrastructure a building resilience.
He promised people paradise — and sent them to their deaths
In September 1822, about 250 largely impoverished Scots uprooted their lives to embark on what appeared to be the journey of a lifetime, sailing to a prosperous Central American country called Poyais to start anew.
But rather than finding a land overflowing with vegetation, livestock, workable soil and opportunities galore as they were promised, “Poyais” was a barren nightmare of unfarmable land and hostile natives. Expecting to build new and better lives, they had instead fallen victim to one of the most audacious and deadly swindles in history, one that most didn’t survive.
The new book “Hoax: A History of Deception” by Ian Tattersall and Peter Nevraumont (Black Dog & Leventhal), out now, features 50 tales of frauds and cons from throughout history. Perhaps none, though, was more brazen than Gregor MacGregor’s Poyais scam.

That’s likely what this dolphin thought as it body-slammed a stand-up paddleboarder in Gracetown, Western Australia. The paddleboarder, a 54-year-old who gave his name as Andrew, told 7News Sydney on Saturday that the dolphins were likely herding fish.
“One of them for some reason decided to jump out of the water and took me out quite well,” Andrew said.
“Hats off to him, he connected with me really well,” he added.
