Belizean born boxer Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller, is calling out heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, after Miller’s latest victory in the ring.
Last night, Miller faced off against French boxer Johann Duhaupas. And came out on top with a unanimous decision at the end of the fight, which was held at the Barclay’s Center, in Miller’s hometown Brooklyn, New York.
Miller, who showed up to the fight wearing a mask from the popular movie, Black Panther, won 119-109 on two judges’ cards and 117-111 on the other; taking his fight record to 21 wins, no losses and one draw.
Following the fight, he made it known that he had his eyes on the champion and the title shot.
“I’m ready for Anthony Joshua,” Miller said. “Let’s bring him to Brooklyn and show him how we do it,” Miller said.
He also took advantage of the world’s attention and put in a positive mention for Belize, saying that he had rice and beans on his mind.
Miller’s latest triumph will go a long way making his case as a title contender, because his opponent Duhaupas, came into the fight as a former European Union heavyweight champion, and the current World Boxing Council Silver Weight Champion, with a 17-0 winning streak in that division. He has won 37 of his 41 total fights, 24 won by knock out.
Miller was born in Belize and migrated to the US at the age of 6. He came to Belize in January, saying that he always feels at home when he visits.
