No power on the island yet, and no news as to when it will be back on. I haven't heard anything about Seven Seas, but keep the faith no negative reports so far. One other interesting piece of news, there is an 8:00 pm curfew, and people are being told if they are out after curfew, they will be shot! This is because the looting has begun, and will probably continue until the power is back, and the crisis is over.

Sheesh, even in San Pedro. I had hoped that would not be a problem there.

Sounds a little drastic for people that may not have a home.

BEL is in the process of restoring electricity and has a crew lined up to come from Cananda. Probably in the next few days most of the power will be on in the main downtown area. This came from as source in San Pedro--Tim Jeffers at Banana Beach

Canadian Linemen are already in Belize. Not sure how many in total. There
was a crew that left Prince Edward Island yesterday they are to be stationed
in Belize City and expect to be there a couple of weeks. Another crew was
leaving from Newfoundland today, not sure what part of the country they are
headed. I heard rumours that linemen from Nova Scotia are in San Pedro.
The same company that owns BEL, owns Maritime Electric and Newfoundland
power. Looks like they are dedicated to getting power restored as soon as
possible.
