The National Celebration Commission announces the 2018 September Celebrations Theme Competition.

All Belizeans living at home or abroad are invited to submit their ideas for the theme of the 2018 September Celebrations in commemoration of the 220th Anniversary of the Battle of St. George's Caye and the 37th Anniversary of Belize's Independence.

The theme should not be more than ten (10) words. Multiple entries are allowed and the winner will receive a cash prize of $1000 and an invitation to the official ceremonies during September.

Submissions can be emailed to: [email protected] or dropped off at NICH office on Regent Street, the Bliss Center for Performing Arts on Southern Foreshore in Belize City or at any of the offices of the districts of the Town Councils or call the secretariat at 227-2110 for more information.

Deadline for submission is Friday June 22nd, 2018.

September Celebrations Theme Chosen!

The National Celebration Commission is excited to announce the winning theme for the 2018 September Celebrations.

The competition was open to all Belizeans living at home or abroad. Persons were encouraged to enter the competition with multiple entries which should not be more than ten (10) words. The winner receives a cash prize of $1000 and a Special Invitation to the Official Ceremonies during September.

This year there were 196 themes submitted by 70 contestants. The winning theme of the 2018 September Celebrations, in commemoration of the 220th Anniversary of the Battle of St. George's Caye and the 37th Anniversary of Belize's Independence, was submitted by Corozal resident Fernanda Tun.
