Two tropical waves are over the Caribbean. See above. Elsewhere, scattered moderate convection is inland from S Guatemala to Panama.

An upper-level trough extends across the NW Caribbean with axis along 87W. Diffluent flow east of this trough is enhancing convection over the W Caribbean and central Cuba. A large upper- level ridge is over the remainder of the Caribbean with axis along 72W.

A tropical wave will move west across the western Caribbean through Wed night with a surface low developing along the wave axis. A second tropical wave across the east Caribbean will pass through the central Caribbean on Thu and Fri. A third tropical wave will pass west through the tropical waters east of windwards on Wed, and pass through the east Caribbean on Thu and Fri. Strong trades currently across the south-central and southwest Caribbean will spread north across the central Caribbean on Wed and Thu, while fresh to locally strong southeast pulses will continue across the northwest Caribbean. Locally strong trades will continue across the tropical waters east of the Windwards through late Wed.

Today's photo is from yesterday afternoon. The scattered showers of yesterday and today create lots of rainbows, this one seemed unusual. currently the wind is from the East at 14 mph and the sea is choppy with scattered showers. *Small Craft Caution in effect for occasional gusty winds and rough seas, especially near heavy showers or thunderstorms.* Today's expected high is 85f.

beautiful photo, rainbow on the reef

From Belmopan...

That Pacific HURRICANE BUD, is now rapidly dying, but the high level outpouring cloud from it is now coming over Belize, giving overcast skies this morning, only small, odd rain showers. The weather people are now talking about an INVEST 91L but I can't see anything, unless they are referring to that Caribbean swellup I was talking about. They say 15.3 N 82.6 W which is actually just of the NE point of Honduras, but the Caribbean is full of cloud at present.

Looks as if today will be fairly cloudy, and with the odd chance of rain patches.

Temperatures in Belmopan :
( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last night min. 25°C 77°F Yesterday max. 31°C 88°F
