On Ambergris Caye this morning we have thunder and lighting with heavy rainfall. The wind is from the East- NE at 10 mph creating a moderate sea state around our barrier reef.

Wind has picked up - coming from north at a 45 degree angle with heavy downpour of rain.

ITCZ swellups everywhere, one over the south, one over the north and a couple over most of central Belize and another large area out at sea. The rain is actually easing off at present, in most parts, but not the north, where it has just started the heaviest rains. We are in the rainy season and it has been our turn for the collection of ITCZ active areas to be occurring. Typically then the high level clashes with the wet Caribbean air, it causes a line or area of rain, but less rain behind or after the clash, just leaving a lot of high level cloud causing heavy overcast conditions.

Today started of with rain, some heavy, in many parts, but this will ease up to leave overcast conditions for most of the day, there can still be the odd rain shower later today.
