I am trying to find information about the El Secreto Resort. I have a PAID reservation for this resort in September, but trying to contact the resort by phone yields no results and a Google search results in a PERMANENTLY CLOSED on a map (file attached). Does anyone have information about this place?

www.travelbelize.org contact them to ask if the inn is open and if not, let them know what happened to you. I think the owners have a large hotel project they are working on in Belize. Sorry and good luck.

Interesting. I passed by there the other day and there was a big group of folks there - staff plus I think some BTB reps too. Probably the phones are not working - like mine!

This is not terribly encouraging, but I had guests booked at El Secreto in late April and they left and booked a property we manage because the resort was a wreck with sewage problems. Looked good from the beach and they couldn't even spend one night there. Hopefully they have fixed their problems since then.

Same group GOB did the deal with for Caye Chapel?

I asked a couple of workers and they said that it is closed for a couple of months (or weeks). Sorry, no certain info.

RE: Caye Chapel... rumors are that the plug has been pulled on that development. Anyone know if it's true?

I don't know if that is true but I do know that there is still work going on over there.
