General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Mainly fair weather will prevail today, before a slight increase in moisture tomorrow.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Mostly sunny today with mainly fair weather prevailing. Then, becoming cloudy at times tonight along with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly over the south, but also over some coastal areas, late.

General Outlook: For Saturday and Saturday night is for a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over most areas, starting over the south and coast and spreading to the mainland late morning into afternoon.

The Caribbean Sea

A tropical wave is over the central Caribbean. See above. Isolated moderate convection is also along the S coast of Cuba. In the upper levels, an upper level low is centered over SW Haiti near 18N74W enhancing convection. RGB imagery from GOES-16 shows a thin layer of Saharan Dust moving across the central and western portions of the basin. Expect the wave to traverse Hispaniola tonight and move to the W Caribbean Friday and Saturday, with convection. More convection will prevail over the SW basin Sunday primarily due to the eastern extent of the E Pacific monsoon trough. Fresh to strong winds are expected to continue over the central basin through the weekend. Near gale force winds will be likely, however, along the coast of Colombia this weekend.

The easterly Caribbean winds are producing lines of cloud over land at present and more patches out at sea, they have been causing the odd small light rain shower in coastal areas, but with no visible high level clouds anywhere, there are no clashes at present. There could be rain later this evening, but no indication of that at present. Looks as if today will be mainly sunny, with white clouds and little or no rain, but could be some this evening.
