From Belmopan...
There is a lot of patchy, chunky easterly Caribbean cloud co9ming in, now well over the country. It is also clashing in a few places with high level from the NW so there are scattered showers in many parts of Belize this morning, not a lot of rain, but many small scattered showers. That hurricane FLORENCE presently is going through a gear change and is only Storm force winds, I suspect it is changing its centre of rotation, but it is expected to pick up again then head for the east coast of the USA, anywhere from north Florida up to Virginia, now missing Bermuda. It does not pose any threat to Belize. There are two other areas in the Atlantic which we will have to watch next week. There are three storms in the Pacific, and I am seeing cloud and a large swellup formation along the Mexico/Guatamala coast that could develop, its high level spin-off is not quite reaching Belize.
Looks as if today will be mainly sunny, but with significant clouds, some heavy, with the chance of the odd rain shower.
