24-hour forecast: Mostly sunny today and partly cloudy tonight. Generally fair weather will prevail, with generally isolated showers or isolated thunderstorms over the south this morning and the chance of slightly more over inland areas late this morning into this afternoon.

General Outlook: For Saturday and Saturday night is for mainly fair weather with only isolated showers during the daytime and then the chance of a few showers and possible isolated showers over the south during the night.
Daily Tropical Weather Outlook: At 6:00 AM Hurricane Florence was centered near latitude 34.1N, longitude 77.9W, or about 10 miles South of Wilmington, North Carolina Tropical Storm Helene was centered near latitude 31.9N, longitude 36.7W, or about 725 miles SW of Lajes Air Base in the Azores. Tropical Depression Isaac was centered near latitude 15.0N, longitude 65.5W, or about 190 miles SSW of St. Croix. Isaac was moving to the West at 15mph with maximum sustained winds of 35mph. Tropical Storm Joyce was centered near latitude 32.1N, longitude 44.9W, or about 1090 miles WSW of the Azores Islands. A broad area of low pressure over the western Gulf of Mexico has a very low chance of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Click for more...

Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

Tropical Storm Isaac is centered near 14.9N 64.4W at 14/0300 UTC or 170 nm S of St. Croix moving W at 14 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 35 kt with gusts to 45 kt. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is from 13N-17N between 55W-65W. A westward motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected for the next few days. On the forecast track, Isaac will move over the eastern and central Caribbean Sea during the next few days. Isaac is forecast to gradually weaken over the next few days, and could degenerate into a tropical wave at any time.

The eastern extent of the eastern Pacific monsoon trough passes through Costa Rica and Panama along 09N. Scattered moderate convection is S of 11N.

An large upper level low is in the western Caribbean Sea near 18N80W. Isolated weak convection is between 13N-20N between 78W- 83W.

An an upper level high is centered in the NE Caribbean Sea near 19N69W, producing a good amount of shear over T.S. Isaac.
