San Pedro Pirates FC lose 1-0 to Police United FC

The San Pedro Pirates F.C hosted the Police United F.C for their first match in the 2018 opening season of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) at the Ambergris Stadium on Saturday, July 27th. The island team fought hard to win their first home game of the season, but at the final whistle, the visiting team managed to take a 1-0 victory.

The current PLB standings have Police United F.C, Verdes F.C and Placencia Assassins F.C with three points each. Belmopan Bandits and Belize Defense Force have one point each, and yet to make it on the chart are Freedom Fighters F.C, Dangriga Wagiya F.C, and San Pedro Pirates F.C.

For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates F.C will be traveling to Punta Gorda Town, Toledo, to face the Freedom Fighters F.C on Saturday, August 11th. Meet the 2018-2019 San Pedro Pirates Football Club Players!
The new season of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) got underway on Sunday, July 22nd. With fresh faces across many teams, The San Pedro Sun is pleased to introduce the players that form the San Pedro Pirates Football Club. This season the Pirates have eight new and 14 returning Pirates. This new season will see eight teams competing for the championship. The teams include San Pedro Pirates F.C, Police United F.C, Belmopan Bandits, Verdes F.C, Placencia Assassins F.C, Belize Defense Force, Dangriga Wagiya F.C and Punta Gorda Freedom Fighters F.C.

San Pedro Pirates dominate Altitude Assassins 4-0

For their second match of the Premiere League of Belize's (PLB) 2018 Opening Season, the San Pedro Pirates F.C travelled to Independence Village, Stann Creek District, to face the Altitude Assassins F.C (Placencia Assassins) at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium on Saturday, August 18th. The island team was in control of the ball throughout the match, and at the end of the game time, it was a clear 4-0 victory for the Pirates.

The current standings have Police United at the top of the chart with nine points, followed by Belmopan Bandits with seven points and Verdes F.C with six points. San Pedro Pirates F.C, Altitude Assassins F.C and Wagiya F.C all have three points each. Belize Defense Force has one point, and yet to make it on the chart is Freedom Fighters.

For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will be playing at home at the Ambergris Stadium on Saturday, August 25th against Belize Defense Force. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30PM. All islanders are invited to come out and support the home team. Food and drinks will be on sale during the game.

San Pedro Pirates F.C hosted the Belize Defense Force (BDF) for their third match in the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) 2018 Season at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town on Saturday, August 25th. Despite the inclement weather, the match took place, and at the final whistle, the visiting team managed to claim the victory with a 1-0 point score.

The current standings have Belmopan Bandits at the top of the chart with 10 points, followed by Police United Verdes F.C with nine points and Wagiya F.C with six points. Following the top three teams is BDF with four points. San Pedro Pirates F.C and Altitude Assassins F.C have three points each, and yet to make it on the chart is Freedom Fighters. For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will be playing another home game at the Ambergris Stadium on Saturday, September 1st against Verdes Football Club. Week five of the 2018-2019 Opening Season of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) saw yet another loss for the San Pedro Pirates Football Club. The island team was defeated in a home game at the Ambergris Stadium against Verdes Football Club on Saturday, September 1st. This latest match, which ended in a 2-1 score, puts the Pirates in the seventh position in the tournament standing, with only three points overall.

The current standings of the PLB have Belmopan Bandits at the top of the chart with 13 points, followed by Verdes F.C with 12 points, and Police United F.C & Wagiya F.C with nine points each. Following the top three teams is Altitude Assassins F.C with six points, Belize Defense Force with four points and San Pedro Pirates F.C with three points. The Freedom Fighters F.C. are yet to make it on the chart. On Sunday, September 9th the San Pedro Pirates F.C travelled to Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District to face Freedom Fighters in a previously delayed match of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB). The island team claimed victory with a 4-3 score, gaining three more points in the PLB chart and moving to the fourth spot in the tournament standings.

The current standings of PLB have Belmopan Bandits at the top with 14 points, followed by Verdes F.C with 12 points and Police United F.C and Wagiya F.C with nine points each. Following the top three scores are Altitude Assassins F.C and San Pedro Pirates with six points each. In the sixth week of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) 2018 Opening Season, the San Pedro Pirates hosted the Belmopan Bandits in a home game at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town on Saturday, September 15th. The match was intense, with tough defense on either side that prevented scores, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

The current standings of the PLB have Verdes F.C at the top of the chart with 15 points, followed by Belmopan Bandits with 14 points and Police United F.C, Altitude Assassins F.C, and Wagiya F.C with nine points. On Sunday, September 23rd, the San Pedro Pirates F.C travelled to Dangriga Town, Stann Creek District to face Wagiya F.C. For the first match of the second round of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) 2018 Opening Season, the San Pedro Pirates F.C traveled to Belmopan City to face Police United F.C on Sunday, September 29th. It was a tight match, but Police United F.C managed to edge out the Pirates and claim a 1-0 victory.

The current standings of the PLB have Verdes F.C at the top with 21 points, followed by Belmopan Bandits with 20 points and Police United F.C and Altitude Assassins with 12 points each. Following the top three is San Pedro Pirates F.C with 10 points and Wagiya F.C with nine points. BDF F.C has seven points and at the bottom of the chart is Freedom Fighters F.C with three points. For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will be playing at home against Freedom Fighters on Saturday, October 6th. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30PM at the Ambergris Stadium. The island team lost in a home game at the Ambergris Stadium against Punta Gorda Town's Freedom Fighters F.C. This latest match, which ended in a 3-1 score, leaves the Pirates with the same 10 points and in the sixth position in the overall tournament standings.

6-1, San Pedro Pirates win first home match of the season

During the tenth week of the 2018-2019 season of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB), the San Pedro Pirates finally managed to claim a home victory against Altitude Assassins on Saturday, October 20th. The island boys delivered a rousing 6-1 victory at the Ambergris Stadium. In a dominant display, the San Pedro Pirates netted their first goal mere minutes into the match, courtesy of Jesse Smith. After solid crosses and passes no other goal was in sight, with the first half coming to an end with Pirates leading 1-0.

Other matches taking place during the weekend saw Belmopan Bandits defeating Wagiya F.C 4-1, Verdes F.C winning 2-1 against Belize Defense Force and Police United F.C and Freedom Fighters ending in a 2-2 draw. For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will be travelling to Belize City to go against Belize Defense Force on Sunday, October 28th. The match is scheduled to start at 4PM at the MCC Grounds.
