Let's not put this in the " Slow down your walking to fast, this is Belize" category. Belize has gone and did a wonderful job of increasing visitor numbers over the last few years. Convincing West jet, Air Canada, South West, Aero Mexico, Sun Country, to be some of the latest new carriers. In my opinion the minister of tourism should follow up on his great success of selling Belize with ensuring that the facility that processes all the new comers is capable to deal with the way the planes come in. We can never change the flight scheduling of airlines, only change how we receive them. We do know when they are scheduled, and easily can put on more agents. I have heard of folks having to find accommodations in Belize City because of missing their connecting flights to their final Belizian destination. Part of the issue is also the new fingerprinting system implemented Dec 1. Again we new of this, and could of been pro-active. Take some of the 100 million USD being put towards the new international airport at Basil Jones, and put it where the problem is now. Belize has a laid back attitude we don't want to loose, but lets not punish those coming to enjoy it as soon as they get off their flights.
