The Farmers Market is at the open space right next to Blue Moon Restaurant every Friday morning from 7am to 1pm. Stallholders are all producers and small farmers selling a wide variety of produce and handicrafts. We do not have traders buying from Mexico and Guatemala which makes the farmers market different from the general market in Belmopan. Amongst the things you can find are artisan cheeses, baked goods, fresh meats, local wines, fruit and vegetables, wood carvings, fresh flowers and plants, and wonderful hot donuts. Come and see us next Friday.
Food and goods have to be produced, grown, made or baked here in Belize and by the person selling it or their direct family. We don't let people buy from others and then bring it in, you're buying direct from the producers. That way customers can talk direct to the producer. With high quality items that is important. Our main objective in setting up the market was to provide an outlet for the many small farmers around Belmopan whose output is insufficient to warrant doing their own distribution.
But its not just farmers, you have people selling baked goods & local foods too.
