The Caribbean Sea
As of 21/0900 UTC, a strong cold front extends from E Cuba near
21N76W to E Honduras near 15N83W. Scattered showers are within
120 nm of the cold front. Fresh to strong NW to N winds cover the
NW Caribbean behind the front to the Yucatan Channel with seas to
8 ft. No significant convection is present over the remainder of
the Caribbean. Tradewinds are fresh to strong across a large area
of the south central Caribbean.
Fresh to strong trade winds will continue over the south-central
Caribbean through Wed night. The winds will increase to, or near,
gale force along the immediate coast of Colombia each night
through Thu night. Moderate to locally fresh trade winds will
prevail elsewhere. A strong cold front crosses the NW Caribbean
from SE Cuba to NE Honduras. The front will stall and begin to
weaken Tue morning. Strong high pres building over the western
Atlc will increase the pressure gradient over the basin Tue
through Fri. This will result in strong trades over most of the
eastern and central Caribbean. Gap winds will affect the lee of
Cuba, together with the Mona and Windward passages on Wed and
Thu.

Terns always stand facing the Dominant Wind and this morning on Ambergris Caye they are facing Due North. It's a chilly but sunny morning with the expected high temperature in the upper 70's.

From Belmopan...
When the met office say variable cloud, they are right, there is so many different winds around our area at present. Clear sunshine skies for north Belize this morning, and fog is many other parts, but the high level cloud, which was tracking over Honduras, is moving further northwards, and is now covering most of Belize, and all of Belize in a few hours time. But under that, there is the easterly Caribbean air trying to come in, and below that the cool air coming down from the north, yet no wind at surface.
Looks like today will be largely cloudy, getting less so later, no rain expected.
Temperatures in Belmopan :
( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )
Last night min. 18°C 64°F Yesterday max. 25°C 76°F Yesterday Rain 0.4 mm ( 0.02" )

The Cloud picture, despite all this cloud around, no rain on the radar.
The high level cloud from the SW has almost completely dissipated over Belize, but still thick over Honduras

I was somewhat puzzled by the fuzzy white clouds over most of Belize, which look like high level clouds, but are not. The are actually easterly Caribbean clouds, rising up over the cooler air and brushing up under the actual high level air, causing the fluffy clouds.

Tomorrows WEATHER for - Tue 22 Jan 2019The high level cloud is still with us, all over Belize, fairly thin, but it could be thicker by morning or thinner. The Caribbean cloud is still moving in from the east and very little trace of the NE cool air. But this afternoon, cool wind at surface that we could feel was from the SW. So probably a cloudy start tomorrow morning, probably little or no rain, tonight cool, but not as cool as last night.
