Meet the San Pedro Pirates F.C. 2019
The 2019 Closing Season of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) began on Saturday, January 12th. With fresh faces across many teams, The San Pedro Sun is pleased to introduce the players that form the San Pedro Pirates Football Club. This season, the Pirates have four new and 12 returning Pirates.
The San Pedro Pirates F.C is currently coached by Alex Noralez, who is originally from San Pedro Town, and Jorge Nu�ez, who is originally from Brazil. Both coaches told The San Pedro Sun that they are working hard to give their best this season and hopefully bring the championship to the island. Coach Nu�ez was San Pedro Pirates F.C first coach when they first participated in the PLB in 2017. He is pleased to come back and bring more knowledge and experience to the team. They are assisted by San Pedro Pirates Manager Tony Maldonado and assistant coach Hugo Pineda.
This new season will see eight teams competing for the championship. The teams include San Pedro Pirates F.C, Police United F.C, Belmopan Bandits, Verdes F.C, Assassin Altitude F.C, Belize Defense Force, Wagiya Sporting Club, and Punta Gorda Freedom Fighters F.C.

San Pedro Pirates win 3-1 against Freedom Fighters
The San Pedro Pirates F.C managed to win their first home game of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) Closing Season 2018 -2019 on Saturday, January 19th at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town. With this 3-1 victory against Punta Gorda Town's Freedom Fighters, the island team gained three points in the tournament's standings.
The current standings of the PLB have Verdes F.C at the top of the chart with six points, followed by Belmopan Bandits and Wagiya Sporting Club with four points each. Following the top three teams are San Pedro Pirates F.C, Assassins Altitude and Freedom Fighters F.C with three points each. Police United F.C and BDF are yet to make it on the chart. For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will be playing another home match against Police United F.C at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town on Saturday, January 26th. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30PM. All islanders are invited to come out and support the island team in their home game.
