Meet the San Pedro Pirates F.C. 2019

The 2019 Closing Season of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) began on Saturday, January 12th. With fresh faces across many teams, The San Pedro Sun is pleased to introduce the players that form the San Pedro Pirates Football Club. This season, the Pirates have four new and 12 returning Pirates.

The San Pedro Pirates F.C is currently coached by Alex Noralez, who is originally from San Pedro Town, and Jorge Nu�ez, who is originally from Brazil. Both coaches told The San Pedro Sun that they are working hard to give their best this season and hopefully bring the championship to the island. Coach Nu�ez was San Pedro Pirates F.C first coach when they first participated in the PLB in 2017. He is pleased to come back and bring more knowledge and experience to the team. They are assisted by San Pedro Pirates Manager Tony Maldonado and assistant coach Hugo Pineda.

This new season will see eight teams competing for the championship. The teams include San Pedro Pirates F.C, Police United F.C, Belmopan Bandits, Verdes F.C, Assassin Altitude F.C, Belize Defense Force, Wagiya Sporting Club, and Punta Gorda Freedom Fighters F.C.

San Pedro Pirates win 3-1 against Freedom Fighters

The San Pedro Pirates F.C managed to win their first home game of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) Closing Season 2018 -2019 on Saturday, January 19th at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town. With this 3-1 victory against Punta Gorda Town's Freedom Fighters, the island team gained three points in the tournament's standings.

The current standings of the PLB have Verdes F.C at the top of the chart with six points, followed by Belmopan Bandits and Wagiya Sporting Club with four points each. Following the top three teams are San Pedro Pirates F.C, Assassins Altitude and Freedom Fighters F.C with three points each. Police United F.C and BDF are yet to make it on the chart. For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will be playing another home match against Police United F.C at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town on Saturday, January 26th. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30PM. All islanders are invited to come out and support the island team in their home game.

San Pedro Pirates lose 1-0 against Police United F.C

In their second consecutive home game of the season, the San Pedro Pirates hosted the Police United F.C at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town on Saturday, January 26th. While both teams gave their best, at the end of the game the visitors managed to capture the victory with a 1-0 score.

For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will be travelling to Independence Village, Stann-Creek District to face Assassins Altitudes on Saturday, February 2nd. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30PM at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium. Any person that is interested in accompany the Pirates as fan can contact 608-6396.

In the fourth week of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) Closing Season 2019, the San Pedro Pirates F.C traveled to Independence Village, Stann Creek District to face Assassins Altitude F.C. at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium on Saturday, February 2nd. The match saw the island team claiming a 1-0 victory.

San Pedro Pirates 4-1 win against Wagiya Sporting Club puts the team in PLB second place position

For the fifth week of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) Closing Season 2019 the San Pedro Pirates hosted Wagiya Sporting Club at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town on Saturday, February 9th. With this 4-1 victory over Wagiya Sporting Club, the island team has claimed the second place position in this week's chart standings, with nine points.

The PLB's current standings have Verdes F.C at the top of the chart with 10 points, followed by San Pedro Pirates F.C, Belmopan Bandits, and Assassin Altitude F.C with nine points each. Police United F.C has six points and BDF has four points. At the bottom of the chart is Wagiya Sporting Club and Freedom Fighters F.C with four points each. For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will be travelling to Belize City to go up against BDF on Sunday, February 17th. The match is scheduled to start at 4PM at the MCC Grounds. San Pedro Pirates win 1-0 against BDF

For the sixth week of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) Closing Season 2019 the San Pedro Pirates traveled to Belize City to face Belize Defense Force (BDF) on Sunday, February 17th. The island team won with a 1-0 score over BDF, managing to remain in the second place position of the PLB rankings for the second week consecutive.

The San Pedro Pirates F.C and Belmopan Bandits are technically tied for the first-place position in this week's standings, with 12 points each. For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates F.C will be playing at home, facing the Belmopan Bandits on Saturday, February 16th. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30PM at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town. Everyone is invited to come out and support the island team in their home match.

San Pedro Pirates draw 1-1 against Verdes F.C

In the eighth week of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) 2019 Closing Season, the San Pedro Pirates faced San Ignacio's Verdes F.C at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town on Saturday, March 2nd. It was a tight match which saw both teams drawing. Despite not winning, the San Pedro Pirates remain in the first place position of the PLB rankings for the second consecutive week.

For their next match, the San Pedro Pirates will travel to Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District to go up against Freedom Fighters on Sunday, March 10th. The game is scheduled to begin at 4PM at the Victor Sanchez Union Field. Anyone interested in accompanying the Pirates as a fan can contact 608-6396.
