The Caribbean Sea

Strong mid level anticyclonic flow and subsidence cover the western Caribbean, although some showers are located near a trough within and just N of the Yucatan Channel. A mid-upper level trough axis runs through the eastern Caribbean. Typical isolated showers are over portions of the NE Caribbean. The latest ASCAT pass from Friday evening shows strong trade winds over the south-central Caribbean south of 15N, with near gales near the coast of Colombia. Fresh trades prevail elsewhere, except for moderate in the NW Caribbean. Strong winds are likely occurring in the Gulf of Honduras.

High pressure north of the area will support fresh to strong trades over much of the central Caribbean through Wed. These winds will likely decrease in coverage Tue through Wed night. Northeast to east winds will pulse to minimal gale force at night tonight and Sun night, with some possibility that they may again pulse to gale force on Mon night. Otherwise, moderate to fresh trade winds will continue across the remainder of the area through the middle part of next week.

On Ambergris Caye this morning the wind is at 10 mph from the East, calming the sea around our Barrier Reef. It's a sunny day with an expected high temperature of 86 f.

Well there is a lot more Caribbean cloud already over most of Belize this morning, there have been a few very minor showers around, but presently none on the radar.

Definitely changed weather, I think there will be a fair bit of sunshine, but also clouds, some heavy, so there could be some more rain at any time, but more likely this afternoon, evening.

Very significant lines of cloud over all of Belize, and a few very small rain showers seen in Corozal, Toledo and Belize districts, but too small to show up on the radar picture.

Tomorrows WEATHER for - SUN 17 Mar 2019

Today may not have appeared different to the last few days, but weather wise, it was very different.

The weather pattern this evening is similar to yesterday evening. So I expect tomorrow, Sunday will be fairly similar to this morning, perhaps, some cloud, a low chance of isolated rain showers.
