The Caribbean Sea

A stationary front extends southwest from southwestern Hispaniola near 18N74W to central Nicaragua near 13N83W. Showers are occurring within 50 nm of this boundary. Showers are also spreading across Hispaniola and to the east of Puerto Rico. Farther south, showers with isolated thunderstorms are moving into the Caribbean along the Nicaragua and Costa Rica border. Gentle to moderate trades are seen across the southern and northwestern portions of the Caribbean. In the central Caribbean, light to gentle trades are observed. Fresh winds are off the northern Colombian coast. Because of the mid to upper level ridge dominating the region, subsidence is suppressing convection.

The stationary front will dissipate through today. Elsewhere, generally moderate trade winds will persist across the Caribbean and tropical Atlantic west of 55W through early next week.

The Caribbean winds are still coming down from the NNE but there is a wind from the west and some attempts of some air coming up from the south, those are causing clouds but not rain in Toledo.

Looks like today will be mainly sunny, white clouds will be developing shortly, a small chance of the odd isolated shower.

There is a wall of air being driven into Belize from the west, by the higher level air, causing cloud over most of southern Belize, but no rain. Caribbean cloud is already developing over most of Belize, caused by the sun heating the ground, air rising and then condensing at a higher altitude, thus causing cooler air to be drawn in from the east. But that wall of cloud being pushed in from the west is being driven by the higher level weather that usually comes off the Pacific.

Tomorrows WEATHER for - Sat 30 Mar 2019

Not very clear what is happening, the strong Caribbean wind from the NE is weakening and there are various other movements around.

Looks as if less cloud tomorrow, Saturday, probably less chance of any rain.
