Scattered showers are seen across the northwest Caribbean along with convection continuing off the northern Panama and Costa Rica coast. Light showers are seen across Puerto Rico and the Greater Antilles with some heavier showers south of Hispaniola. Low-topped showers are also seen across the Lesser Antilles. Moderate to fresh trades prevail in the central and eastern Caribbean with gentle to moderate trades in the western basin.

The pressure gradient between high pressure north of the area and low pressure over Colombia will continue to support strong to near gale force northeast to east winds over the south-central Caribbean through Saturday. Winds will diminish and decrease in areal coverage Sunday and Monday as the high pressure shifts eastward and the pressure gradient weakens.

On Ambergris Caye this morning a 20 mph wind from the East is creating rough sea conditions around our barrier reef. The sky is cloudy bright and looks as if we may get rain. The expected high for the day is in the upper 80's.

The easterly Caribbean winds already building a lot of cloud at present, and a few small rain showers around, mainly up in the north. The angry high level clouds are now moving away from us over the Caribbean, but leaving a fair bit of moisture around, allowing the easterly Caribbean winds to bring a fair bit of cloud this morning.

Looks today will appear to be fairly similar to yesterday, a fair bit of cloud and the odd chance of some rain showers.

There is increasing rain developing up north, not really moving, just developing and in wider areas, even down to parts of central Belize. The Caribbean cloud is getting too big to simply stay as cloud cover, some getting larger and higher and clashing with some high level from the NW causing rain.
