We are planning on getting a new golf cart in the next month or so and have a few questions for you experts. We are getting an Clubcar Onward. Did you opt for the 14 inches wheels? Is it east to get parts/tires if we do? Also there is an option for a locking storage in the back below the seat. Have any of you got this and is it useful or very secure?

The new Club Car Onward comes with a Kohler engine. I have a Subaru engine configuration. I would not go with 14" rims as it causes the car to ride rougher. The bigger the rim the less tire wall there is to flex. I believe the bigger rims are more for the "Bling-Bling Look". I use 10" rims . Also, 10" tires are a lot cheaper. Make sure to opt for the premium seat package, big difference. Locking storage compartments are like like flashing billboards that say "Break Into Me"! Just my opinions. Good Luck.

Thanks for the information. This is exactly the kind of info that is useful. I was thinking that the storage compartment was a good place to put items that have a chance of falling out of the back like a backpack and so forth. Do you have the 'hidden compartment' under the rear seat and it this an adequate place to put such items? Also, I was thinking the larger rims would give me more clearance but by your reply I now assume they are the same overall diameter as the 10 inch wheels when you add the tires. Correct?

I use the "hidden compartment" or bucket under the rear seat. The 14" rims use a tire size of 23 x 10 - 14. That is height 23" x width 10" on a 14" rim. The 10" rims use a tire size of 22 x 10 - 10. That is height of 22" x width 10" on a 10" rim. The difference in height / diameter is 1". The 14" rims would produce 1/2" more ground clearance than the 10" rims.
