It’s almost that time of year again! Registrations will open soon, but we wanted to let you know that the date for this year’s boat parade will be Saturday, December 7!

It’s free to register your boat, and we have a CASH PRIZE pool of $10,000! There is also plenty of other prizes to be won!

Last year, we asked you to help us save this annual tradition, and you, the community, definitely showed up! Please help us to make this year’s parade even bigger and better!

Join us this year on Saturday, December 7th at 6 PM for the annual San Pedro Holiday Boat Parade. We have the best spot on land to watch the boats go by! Get here early to claim your spot. It's a fun event — you don't want to miss out if you're on the island. If you aren't planning to be in San Pedro that weekend, there's still time to buy your plane tickets and join us for this special island tradition!

Official viewing stations for the final holiday boat parade are: Hurricanes Ceviche Bar, Wayo’s Beach Bar, Sandy Toes Beach Bar, Sandbar Beachfront Restaurant, Palapa Bar & Grill, Fido’s Beach Bar, Estel’s Dine by the Sea, with the turn around point at Crazy Canucks Beach Bar.

The San Pedro Holiday Boat parade has been an annual event on Ambergris Caye for 13 years, having been started in 2006. It attracts thousands of tourists and locals to the beach annually. But this year, the event may be the last year that it will be done. Our correspondent Jorge Aldana spoke to one of the organizers and filed the following report.

A big thank you to everyone for making tonight possible! We look forward to seeing the coast light up Saturday night starting at Hurricane's Ceviche Bar! Then join us for the awards ceremony at Sandbar where we’ll poll the audience to award a viewers choice prize! Please be sure to watch the parade from any of our official viewing stations and support the businesses that support the holiday boat parade!

2019 San Pedro Holiday Lighted Boat Parade Shines on A Gorgeous December Night

The 2019 Holiday Lighted Boat parade AGAIN was just about the cutest thing ever. (Next week, I’ll be the declaring the 2019 LoveFM Holiday Parade thru town the cutest thing of the year. I can’t help it. I secretly love all things Christmas.) Last night, about 10 boats bobbled and bumper-car-ed in the water to line up as the sunset on a gorgeous night in San Pedro.

Wayo’s Bar was packed…Hurricane’s Bar had a good sized crowd. Sandy Toes was hoping but I spotted a bar – on the longest dock in the area that had almost no one there. SO I chose that as my outpost.

Team Chingon wins 2019 San Pedro Holiday Boat Parade

Team Chingon claimed the top prize at this year’s Annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade held on Saturday, December 7th. Hundreds of onlookers came out to the beach, docks and shore-side bars to enjoy the traditional Christmas celebration. The night coastline was decked with several creatively decorated vessels setting the parade route aglow. It was an evening full of holiday cheer and fabulous cash prizes for the top participants.

The colorful boat parade began after sunset, as the nine boats participating this year lined up in front of Wayo’s Beach Bar by the Boca del Rio Area. Many of the establishments along the coastline were packed with people eagerly waiting to see the lighted boats. As they made their way south one by one, spectators along the way could be seen trying to get the best vantage point to admire the creativity on display. Ranging from a hammerhead shark, to a Christmas themed 3-D crocodile and Santa tossing lighted ‘trash in the can’ encouraging everyone to keep the island clean.
