Ok, now that I have spent some time reading all the posted messages, I have a new dilema. While I have definitely decided to go (How could I resist with all the glowing reports!), I now do not know how long I should stay. I initially was thinking about four or five days, but now I am thinking too short a time to really enjoy everything? Maybe two weeks? Or would this be too much for a first trip? I read the replies on good bets for lodging and appreciate the advice. Is there any area/hotel I should stay if I want to spend some of my days laying on the beach with a good book? I don't neccesarily need to swim right off the beach, but I do like to float around and cool off. Sea grass does not really bother me, as I spend August at the Cape and the water is full of it there. Has anyone any opinion on the Del Rio? By the way, I don't think I have been this excited about a trip in a long time! You guys really know how to make a place sound like paradise! Again, thanks to all who take the time to answer a newcomers questions.

The most expensive part of a trip to Belize is the airfare. If you can stay for two weeks you won't regret it! There are so many nice and clean lodging options to choose from.Dining can be very inexpensive too. The people on this board are honest and give thier true opinions...If they don't you can bet many people will correct thier info. Just ask exactly what you want to know and someone will help you. Enjoy your trip!!!

You don't say if you are traveling solo?? Have you thought about renting a house if you want some alone time to read etc. Would be more feasible for several people however. Victoria House offers a quiet atmosphere and is still is accessible to town. Pool and area for swimming in the ocean.
