A broad area of low pressure located about 350 miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms with winds of around 30 mph on its northeast side. Some gradual development of this system is expected, and a tropical or subtropical depression could form during the next couple of days while it moves northwestward and then northward over the open Atlantic. After that time, upper-level winds are expected to become less conducive and the disturbance is forecast to merge with a frontal system after midweek, so additional development is not expected. For more information, see High Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather Service.

* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.

On Ambergris Caye this morning the sky is clear and sea state around our barrier reef is calm. However the 13 mph NW wind is hitting the West shore and the reef is on East side and in the lee. The expected high temperature for the day is 80 f.

Early morning cloud cover on the mainland has mostly burned off.

The cold air really coming down now, night temperature got down to 65.5°F (19°C ) last night due to clear skies, CO did not stop the heat radiating away from the ground, contrary to what the Global Warming people are trying to tell us.

Looks like today will be mainly sunny, with cool air, some clouds developing later today, no rain expected.
